KRIPIS | Environment – Hazards, Task 4.3. Resilience of coastal environment to climatic change with application to economic activities & Task 4.4. Advanced telecommunications and crowd sourcing for civil protection applications, coordinator. | GSRT | 2013-2015 |
CLIMATOURISM | The influence of climatic change on the coastal environment in relation with tourist planning, PostDoc fellowships 2010, coordinator. ”show_more” The ClimaTourism project focuses, on the identification of the vulnerability of the Cretan coast to sea level rise and associated erosion and, on the estimation of the socioeconomic risk, in terms of expected loss of land and economic activity. Its purpose is to perform risk assessment analysis in relation to socioeconomic impact of the climatic change, with the emphasis placed on the effect of sea level rise on beach tourism. It aims to improve the resilience of the existing infrastructure and socio-economic activities related to tourism and to provide to the stakeholders, governmental agencies and private sector corporations, reliable data in fields like land use planning, investment risk reduction, insurance cost estimation for a sustainable future coastal zone management. ClimaTourism is implemented in the Institute of Applied and Computational Mathematics of the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas. It is implemented within the framework of the Action «Supporting Postdoctoral Researchers» of the Operational Program “Education and Lifelong Learning” (Action’s Beneficiary: General Secretariat for Research and Technology), and is co-financed by the European Social Fund (ESF) and the Greek State. ”less” | Ministry of Education | 2012-14 |
AKTAIA | The development of new methodologies for the quantification and mitigation of the climatic change impact on the E. Cretan coast, S. Aegean Sea (711-12/11/2009), coordinator. [ ”show_more” The scope of the project is to create new knowledge on the aspects on climate change and the effects of its various factors in the stability and/or evolution of coastal landforms that develop along the coastline of Eastern Crete, taking into consideration the human factor. ”less” | GSRT-Hellas cooperation program | 2011-2014 |
03ΕΔ966 | Development of new non-invasive methods for estimation of musculoskeletal diseases. Application in orthopaedic, sports and rehabilitation, coordinator. | GSRT-Hellas, PENED-03 | 2006-2008 |
Environmental friendly treatment of the coasts using floating barriers | GSRT-Hellas, PENED-01 | 2003-2005
Finite element solution of the Helmholtz equation-applications in underwater acoustics | GSRT-Hellas, PENED-94 | 1996-1997
